Culture Fit
Culture is a sense of belonging.
You know in your heart you are a fit. You feel as if you are at home.
Culture is defined by our values and is our internal compass in how we behave and make decisions.
Beach culture encourages you to leave your flip flops in the sand and promises no one will steal them. It's a dog friendly culture. Lifeguards lead by example to keep the beach clean. It's a culture of being active, of T-shirts and board shorts, and a culture of respect.
Brewery culture is culture of community. New and serendipitous friendships. It's a culture of bike riding, T-shirts and shorts, dog friendly, hops and hospitality, love and respect for the craft.
Household culture may have a coffee ritual. No shoes or preservatives in the house please. A culture of being active, dog friendly, a culture of love and respect.
A workplace culture promotes a culture of reliability, accountability and ownership, professionalism, suit and tie. Alternatively it may be a culture of T-shirts and shorts, a culture of being active (mid day ab workouts), a culture of donuts and a coffee ritual, dog friendly, hospitality, respect.
You know in your heart if the culture is a fit for you and it is a two way street.
It takes time to build , develop and maintain culture, but when you build it with those who share the same foundation, it should be easy, its home. In a good culture fit you are your best self and you bring out the best in others.
